Hi,

I have just received the m steering wheel i won on ebay and plan to swap it over at some point this weekend... have a few questions before i jump in...

1. Do i need to disconnect the whole battery or is the earth enough (i've been getting different answers to this...)
2. have a rough idea of what to do thanks to a couple of forum members, but would be nice to have a guide of some sort. anyone got one?

Thanks!

1: If you disconnect ALL the earths, then there is no circuit. This will be fine.

Good guide, i'll be needing that next week. Hopefully the multifunction side goes well to  I havent got the wheel yet but I assume there is a plug that just fits into that black socket you can see behind the airbag?

if you've got a pre-facelift I believe that is definately the case.
If you haven't, I think you also need to route a cable.. but I'm not sure.
CJ is the man in the know :P

MFSW is just plug and play. Paddles need smore work.

Remember to give the airbag time to discharge before removing it...15 mins to be safe.

Thanks - so where are the earths? sorry for the stupid question, but there's a first time for everything. :)

I also spoke to BMW and they said that the airbag light will come on after you've fitted it. is this true?
