Changing Headlights

Hi,
I'm planning to change my headlights because I see water droplets inside the driver side headlight. I don't know how it happens. The passenger side is okay. And both are cloudy as well.

How do I know which headlights to buy? How do I know if the ones on my car are Xenon or Halogens? When you buy headlights, do they come with the bulbs as well or not? Any suggestions where I should buy from? Which aftermarket brands are good ones?
Please help.

The moisture inside will just be because the seals on the access cover on the rear have dried out. New covers come with seals from BMW and are not expensive.

Hi [ref]ph001[/ref],
By access cover, you mean fender liner?
Sorry, I didn't get you.

He means on the back of the actual headlight unit.
You can reach it from the access panel in the front of the front wheel arch,

Ok. Thanks.
One more question: Has anyone tried installing VIPMotoZ LED Halo Headlights Headlamps? Does anyone know if it's compatible with 2005 BMW Z4 2.5i Automatic? Mine has Halogens installed right now. So, I don't know if LEDs are even possible.

Unless you really want aftermarket I can’t see the logic of not simply drying out and sorting the seal, especially with halogens.

Have to agree with paddy, aftermarket lights never look right and OEM are very expensive, even in halogen guise! Try drying out existing light and checking access cover seal, mine was crimped before.

Ended up buying new headlights.
I don't notice any loss in light; works similar to the OEM one. Ordered it with the LED low beam, which is much better than the original low beam. But I have the same Halogen high beam.

May I ask which ones you went for Skurup? Price too if you don't mind. I am going to have to source LHD versions and not sure which to go for.
Thanks

VIPMotoZ 2003-2008 BMW E85 Z4 LED Halo Headlights Headlamps, Driver and Passenger Side.
Search that in Amazon. It's sold by VIPMOTOZ.
It's $370 for the pair (driver & passenger side); including the low-beam upgrade to the LED bulbs.

Great! Thanks Skurup. I am waiting on Jingles coming back with a reply to my advert since he has some LHD units but at least may have this as a backup (if they have Lefties of course).

Changed mine last year and they really make the car look younger . Went for the black background rather than the chrome .Oh and im changing the plate soon , would anybody be interested " ROSE "

Looking for a drivers side headlight with ginger hockey stick cos mine has gone terrible compared to the pristine passenger side one. Have any of you guys saved your old units and willing to sell me one?

Cheers, tug
