Changing from Xenon Headlights to aftermarket

Hi guys,

I've tried to do a bit of searching but can't find anything...I want to remove my Xenon headlights (which BTW aren't running Xenon bulbs or Ballasts - pre my ownership), and I want to put in aftermarket headlights (the whole unit) because mine are so rubbish and wet inside.

Is there anything specific I have to do, or can I literally just plug in new headlights?

Also - does anyone know where I can new 'inspection panel' covers that sit inside the inner wheel arch and give access to the lights as mine are missing and I think this might have something to do with the wet/misting inside my lights.

Thanks

Hi Julz,

Have you tried removing the plastic cover from the headlights and letting them dry out? This solved the condensation issue on mine.

You're right in thinking that the lack of access panel cover won't be helping though, I previously ordered a foglight one for around £12. I'll be needing to get a headlight one too now as mine has worked its way loose this week and disappeared!

Part numbers available here.

Hi,

Yeah I've done that before and even swapped the seals around but they're still full again, I might do it and split them down this time and dry them out. I would like to change to after markets though as I don't even have the ballasts or anything for these headlights (well I have one thats not connected) - I've put in HID's for now, but even those are playing up, it must be soaking inside the light.

I've seen some aftermarket ones I like but they're just normal headlights, so want to know if I can just plug them in?

I'll get the cover and hopefully that will help once everything is clear and dry.

Thanks for the help :-)
