Changing CCV M54

Hi!

This is my first post here as a new owner of a BMW E85 (M54) 2.2 from 2005. I’ve read a lot here before but haven’t been able to find the answer to the question below, so I’d really appreciate any help

I’m currently in the process of replacing the CCV and have also ordered a new O-ring for the dipstick tube (the part that goes down into the oil pan). I’m wondering – can I replace this O-ring without draining the oil from the car?

I’m fairly sure you can yes- the oil level is not above that point when changing the o ring
