Changing a fuse

Thought I'd copy my issue into this forum as well as it seems busiesr than the e89 problems one....

Surely somebody has changed a fuse before?

The power sockets on my new (to me) 23i don't work so I'm assuming it's the fuse.

I have managed to remove the panel in the passenger footwell and the single retaining screw on the front of the fuse box...but for the life of me I can't get the box out, or down enough to access the fuses. It's still attached at the back but I can't see how it comes out.

Can anyone help? I may just take the car back to the dealer but that seems nuts just for a fuse!

Yes another brilliant BMW design!

It sits on a step at the the rear so just jiggle it around and it will come out, but doesn't come out far. It will feel like you are straining the wiring, but its the only way to get it down far enough to access.
The fuse is 20amp yellow on the lefthand side so reasonably easy to get at.

You should have the liitle card showing its location.

When reinstalling just make sure it sits back on the locating shelf, otherwise it will hang down at the back and rattle.
Also found a pair of mole grips was useful when trying to grip and turn the screw fastener in place.

Ok I had another go...I've managed to get it to slide out now...thanks for the advice! Fuse is blown so now I need to pop to Halfords tomorrow.
