Changed Transmission Fluid

Took the advice of Mile Miller, the author of Tech Talk in Roundel Magazine, and drained out the BMW recommended ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and replaced it with Red Line MTL for manual transmissions. The notchiness I was experiencing when changing lower gears has greatly improved.

Here is some information:

I did the same but with Royal Purple Synchromax which IMO is better than the Redline stuff, its the only thing we used to use in the E36 racer, the OEM stuff really is shite and changing the fluid made a huge difference to the gearchange, so much smoother now

Have been mulling this one over as well.
But I thought MTF-LT-2 was being used not ATF

Are the above brands coloured in any way?
For warranty purposes I would want to use a fluid that looked the same as BMW fluid.
If a tranny issue occurs, I think there'd be problems if they could tell you had non-BMW fluid.

Hi, anyone else uses RP SYNCHROMAX for the Z4M Roadster?
Am searching where to get it in Singapore...

Would also be interested in what gearbox oils have worked well in the Z4M. Changing from LT2 to LT3 in my old 3.0 at 45k miles made a nice improvement in notchyness.
