I'll be buying one as soon as they're out, i've been waiting for this 12" since it was first rumoured :D

Hands down no contest better than non-mac laptops. I tend to find once people move to a macbook, they don't go back. Shame i can't play games on it though!

The 38mm with the Milanese was my favourite one when I saw the original pictures. Not so happy it's just a magnetic closure. I've already got a lot of rather expensive watches I don't wear and I won't give up wearring my AP so I'd need to wear two watches which would be weird.
 
I'd be interested to know why people are buying the apple watch ...

I have iPhones, iPads.... Can't understand the watch.
 
I had the Samsung ones which I liked and used well so the appeal is there for me but still shocked by price

Errrr because they don't have a choice.... it's a new Apple product and they're conditioned to buy all new Apple products no matter how impractical or over-priced they are... simples
 
You could describe me as an Apple fanboi as I've been using Apple products since 1989.

Started on an SE, through the LC, VX, Centris, Quadra, PowerPC, G3, G4, G5, and Mac Pro with Intel Xeons. Still using my 2008 Mac Pro with dual quad core 3.2s, that's been upgraded with memory, SSDs, GPUs, USB3, etc. to about as far as the machine will handle. The only maintenance I do on it is a clean install of the OS and apps when an new OS comes out.

My 'portable' Mac is a 3 year old 21.5" iMac - upgraded to a 1tb SSD split into 2 partitions so that I can run OSX and W7 via bootcamp.

Even had a MessagePad 100 (think I only used it for crosswords as it was too slow for much else) and a QuickTake 150 (s**t).

Still not even remotely interested in the iWatch :thumbsdown:

That's because it's due to be replaced. Funny that.

With regards to why buy the apple watch? I have a dodgy heart and I like to keep an eye on my heart rate and the apple watch does this without the need of a straped on monitor around your chest. If my other half and I both had one you can tap the watch and it lets them know your thinking of them which is cute. Probably a bit annoying but at least is get his attention as he's a nightmare for picking up calls and texts.

I can see the appeal but it's too much money for what it is. Why pay nearly a £1k for a watch that will be redundant in a year or two. If your über wealthy then dropping 8k on a gold one won't seem like anything but would you really want that over a rolex sports model which hold good money?

Fitbit do at least as good continual heart rate monitoring wrist based devices. For a much lower price point, doesn't have to be charged every day and they have an established pedigree.
