I just changed the cabin filter on my 3 Series, and it looked much like Chris'! :roll:

Thankfully it's much easier to get at than on the Z4. :D

My cabin filter arrived today, picked up from Argos.
Took me 10 minutes to fit. Would have fitted in 5 but had to fettle it about to make it fit :x .
Just make sure you get a proper one....... From what I read on the forum, the best are Mann filters, fit straight in.

Just sit on a mat or something comfortable on the floor next to the passenger door, before you know it all will be done.
Worked for me, but I had to stretch, I am only 5' 8" tall or should I say short.
 
Changed mine today. Quite an easy job for me I thought. Now retired so not as bendy as I used to be :cry: .

Then found a bit of a re- wiring jobby for something :? Any ideas :idunno: . It has a 15amp fuse fitted.

:rofl: possible I guess. I did do a thorough clean under the scuttle last year with a vacuum which may have removed a lot the crap. I replaced the scuttle cover as it had split & at least half the bracket clips had snapped. TBH she hasn't done many miles over the last few years & is very much a garage queen :D .
 
I'm feeling quite smug now, cos the filter is so easy to change on my E46's. And super easy on my E30 because it doesn't have one.
