Wanted to change the kidney grills to black surround instead of the std chrome effect. While doing this I also wanted to put some mesh behind the grills to further protect the radiator as I had seen Mikey boy do before.
After taking the chrome grills out (just pull and they come out) I used the grills to make a template. I used this template to cut out the shape from a sheet of mesh I purchased from eBay leaving extra space at either end so I could fold it around the back edges of the front bumper.
On the bumper all around the hole for the grills are small flanges which I put double sided Mammoth tape (double sided webbed tape). I then had to take the top engine cover off to expose the top of the radiator so I could squeeze a hand in to fix / push the cut mesh in place. Once the mesh was stuck in place with the tape I fitted my new grills.
Think it looks great and am really happy with it. Just need to find out now many flies get caught in the new mesh now!
