This makes me cringe, the badly designed recess for the rear window? Such an over sight! I haven't heard of anybody on here yet having to replace the seals ... but surely it's going to happen.

Yes, it's a coupe-only feature.
To qualify for the coupe version of the Z4, BMW originally mandated ownership of a small willy and a garage. Roadster owners needed to have owned "at least one pair of left-handed thinning shears" and "used a hair conditioner or similarly useless, post-shampoo treatment for three or more consecutive years".

I always thought roadster owners had to be bald or blonde. I'm neither but I am starting to like the look of the coupe.
So it seems coupes collect water on the outside and roadsters collect water on the inside!
Don't feel too bad. There's a Harry Metcalfe review of the DB11 up on YouTube, and while he loves the car, he picks up on the fact that the awesome-looking "Curlique" front wheel arch vents slowly fill with mud and gravel, some of which gets blown down the side of the car, even after it's washed and garaged. Bird bath suddenly doesn't seem so annoying!!!
