Change Middle Hydraulic Rams for Roof

Does anyone know how to change the middle hydraulic silver rams on the roof. My rams are leaking so I sourced a new roof, well second hand one on eBay to harvest the rams and keep the rest of the roof as spares should I need them in the future.

Can anyone help me with the procedure, I'm a complete novice so wouldn't know where to start. I need to take the rams on my donor roof and put them on my roof.

Or even better, if you are around the M25 area I could come to you and perhaps you could do for me, of course I'm willing to pay for your time and effort.

The roof is very complex.

I would seek out a specialist, as a novice, I don’t think its possible without a steep learning curve, but mistakes will be costly.

Even BMW garages need to get specialists in for some roof repairs.

There is a guy on here, dietcokeman aka Brian which may be the only person qualified to look at it, but he knows more about sensor issues as far as I know.

This is a serious hardware replacement of a complex system.

What guarantee do you have that these newer rams are in good condition?

Deepseaskateboard thanks for replying. Yes I did notice Brian's posts on here and I will try and contact him. The only guarantee I have is that the guy I bought the roof off of said he had it working before he took the car apart for parts. The donor car was in a flood but the roof was not harmed. I only need to replace the 2 silver rams on the botton half of the roof, the one with the glass. I'm just not sure how to take it off etc.. and bleeding the system and so on. I will try and contact dietcokeman but fear he is no longer on here as his posts are quite some time old.

Hi, you could try dlv (ducklakeview) as he’s worked on e89 roof issues before
