Change knob automatic gearbox

Does anybody know that it is possible to change the knob of an automatic gearbox by another "smaller" one?
If it is possible; any ideas? (and where you can buy it?)

None of the parts site list the newest models yet, but you would think that it would be possible to swap for the latest shifter as on the 20i / 28i but I bet it will cost a fair bit. Should just plug in, if you replace the entire shifter. I think.

I read on another bmw forum that it is possible to pull off this one and replace it. (on a E92, they replaced it by the knob of a M3 dkg. Very nice.)
You have to pull really hard they wrote.
But I don't know about the push-button. I'm still looking for somebody who have already did it or who have some experience with this.

Would you believe that was one of the reasons I bought the 35i, because I'd don't like the old style shifter on the other autos!! Silly I know, but true!!!
