Ceramic brake pads

Hi all... anybody had any experience with ceramic brake pads.?? upgrading my 3.0 se to the larger 3.0 si discs & calipers and wondering what pads to use, and i came across the ATE ceramic pads. My head is telling me ceramic may be a lot cooler under heavy braking but surely it will wear the disc out quicker?
 
I always use these (ATE or Textar ePad). I've never noticed a difference in braking but they keep your wheels a lot cleaner.
