Centre Storage and Washer Reservoir

The flip down door to the storage cubby hole between the seats is broken. Both hinges snapped (don't get me started on how). Can't immediately see how to remove and replace. Also, complicated in that the arm rest/flip down door has a snap in bluetooth phone cable so is this easy to replace. Where to I get the part from, which part? how to I replace it etc...

Also, the washer jet reservoir has sprung a leak (don't get me started on how). It empties our on the floor as quickly as you can top it up. How does one get to it to see whats going on?

Console door has two small screws, one in each hinge, open about 60% of travel and pull away and directly towards you, they pop out of hinge. Think front and back come apart but never actually done it.
 
Console hinges are broken. Any idea what is involved in replacing? presumably just a new door which the phone cradle from the original door will go back into?

Traced the washer resevoir leak to somewhere behind the offside headlight but can't get to it. Presumably the connection to the headlight washer jet. How do I get to it?

It won't be the door thats broken it will be the cubby connection it fits onto by the sound of it.
 
Hi Dannyd check your headlamp washers... Iv just had my nearside one fail ( needs some new o rings ) when it did it just dumped most of the fluid onto the garage floor in about a minute... Youll have to remove front bumper but it only takes 10 mins or so...
 
Thinking about it you could try squirting the headlight washer... Get someone to do it for you while you watch... They should both go up and down in unison and smoothly... It's unlikely to be the connection more ilely the pump is sticking
 
As for taking bumper off you have about 8 bolts across the bottom lip of bumper (10mm I think) half a dozen (ish) torx bits across slam panel and the clips in the wheel arches ...
 
As for the console flap you need to be clear which bit has broken. the hinge on the flap or the surrounding support trim.

Removal is as noted above, however in the drivers side is a tiny hole. Inset an allen key or similar with the flap just slightly open. This locks the hinges open as you lower the flap to nearer horizontal They can they be slid on/off easily.
Makes way more sense when you do it and eases fitting the new one

or take washer bottle out, remove pipe and fill with chewing gum... sorted... no headlamp washers but they are useless anyway! :)

I might try and repair mine once I move house and don't have to work on a gravel drive, but I can't say I've missed the headlamp washers since I removed the feature.

With the (alleged) stricter MOT coming into force soon, won't non-functioning headlight washers be an MOT fail - the alleged new rule doesn't apply to non-HID systems though.
 
I tried removing the bumper but some of the star (torx?) bolts across the top are over tight and shredded my bits. Also not confident I'll get it back on straight. May have another go but will need to buy a decent torx driver that wont shred. Alternatively, I do like the idea of sealing the tube to the headlight washers with gum for now, and doing a permanent fix if and when the lack of headlamp washer jet becomes a problem. Its definitely that connection though because i've had the water bottle out and the scuttle plate off and can see all the other connections and its not leaking from there, so it must be the point where the hose connects to the washer jet behind the bumper.

Re the centre console:-

Here is the pick of the "slot" into which the "pins" on the console door fit into.

And the corresponding "pins" on the console doow which should slot into those slots (and are then screwed in).

You can see from the left side that the pin is intact and indeed this would go back into the slot and screw in and work fine. The problem seems to be that the right "pin" on the console door has snapped off and is stuck in the slot on the center console itself. So, presumably I need to replace the door. Agreed?

Where would I source the door from, and do you know whether its a straight forward job replacing the phone electronics which, of course, sit in the door (you can see the wiring in the first photo?
