Has anyone on the forum used this company in the US https://www.leatherz.com/collections/z-series-z4
And more specifically this Centre armrest? Really like the look of it. Any thoughts ?View attachment 1

I had a LeatherZ one for years - until I needed the handbrake cable replacing and had to strip it off.

Sold it on here some time back.

I've thought about getting one of these. And the strips for the doors too, as the door rests are pretty hard. But to me the centre armrest looks too tall - OK for an auto, but surely would leave your arm at the wrong angle for easy gear changes in a manual with ZHP. And looks just plain awkward when using the hand brake.

Thinking about it and you're right. Too tall. :( I have the ZHP gear knob which is obviously shorter than the standard one so I think you would be constantly banging your elbow on the thing. The Roadster Solutions armrest is much better and shallower but they don't make it anymore sadly. The Leather Z one above looks ok but not practical. I might invest in the door arm rests and leather door pulls. We'll see.

I've got one in my boot, bought the door and centre armrests off here a while ago, fitted the door ones but the centre armrest fouled on my handbrake gaiter as its a custom gaiter and a storm moterwerks handbrake lever :(

I have one on my 05 z4 and love it. But I still have original shift knob so not an issue for me. I like the extra storage and surprised that even tho am short 5'4 and short arms it works for me.

What do you think of the door armrests, do they make a difference or is it just cosmetic? Could the centre armrest be modified so it's just the padded top rather than the storage box Like the one in the link from Roadster Solutions ?

The door armrests do make resting your arm there a lot comfier. I like having that little extra bit of leather there aswell  From memory i think the armrest is just a hinged lid on a plastic base so i can't see why not, might have trouble fixing it down though and having it follow the contours of the centre console. I thought it felt a bit cheap for what you pay, the base is made of quite thin plastic
