I had a drive thru town this morning on a partly sunny foggy morning and it was gorgeous along the embankment, and took in 2 tunnels too, and popped the car into sport plus and away I went....a gorgeous start and some great ideas for the Central London meet....

Thinking a good meet point will be Westfields at Shepherds Bush, quick jaunt down to Ace Cafe for breakfast and then head into town.......

What start time were you thinking?

And where is it? :poke: :poke:

I enjoyed the strand underpass for the first time in a while last weekend and like always it was empty apart from me.

Sadly I have a big night planned on the 19th, so like Peddy I'll either falling into bed or clutching my broken head and crying whilst begging for ibuprofen or death...

What chance the 19th or the follwoing weekend instead and I'll be there? :?

Take your point BMWZ4MC, but will Saturday morning traffic, even early, be conducive to a Central London meet ? I will of course do as I am told... Think the following weekend is ok for me right now if things change

Bing Saturday morning would be fine at 0700h, but would likely get busy later. I'll just keep an eye on this for any possibility of a date change...
Or maybe I'll follow the same route all by myself the following Sunday

Well it would be rude not to

Are you sure you guys want to do this? Driving in Central London an absolute nightmare these days, been in and out of town last few days and a mass of roadworks and route closures/diversions - gets my blood pressure up. The drivers/esp bus drivers are really knobby too. Have fun!

Point taken, but an early morning start will be good...only thing that may stop this is the weather....seriously, have we ever known such prolonged rain like this?

7 in the morning on a Sunday should be fine, we'll be done by 9 by which time the shops won't even be open. It's not a hoon, it's a drive round the capital - the only issue as Nick says could be the weather. And if it's gloriously sunny then it'll be fantastic - we won't actually have anywhere to get to by a given time remember, which is what I usually find stressful about driving in London. Personally I'll have to get up at 5am  , and then get home to Kent from the Ace Cafe or wherever we finish in West London, which some would see as a total arse, but I can't wait

And Nick - yes I have known weather like this in April... But then I'm Scottish :P

Well I think that was my point, will you even be able to drive anywhere let alone hoon judging by my experiences this week with being in the Capital. Well I hope the early start helps and the sun comes out. Oh and avoid the Hammersmith flyover area at all costs.

Wow...lived in London all m life, not sure I can cope with the pressure of London driving... :poke:

Like the idea of this, especially the Ace Cafe (fry up?) bit. But found out yesterday I maybe back off to Afghan soon (only been back 6 weeks) :(

Rafman, be good to see you mate if you can make it...see how you go....

Stuart, leave the country life and come see the London Life 8) would be great if you could make it mate....

I can't. I realised I have a couple of hundred miles more than I thought remaining on the insurance. Just enough to get me to renewal and a year's NCB if I stick to my usual journeys

Have fun though. Next year I won't have limited mileage and more runs will definitely be on the cards

Tapatalking...

Do they check ? They never asked me my actual mileage when I renewed, and I don't think I hae ever been asked :?
