Central locking /Alarm issues

I'm at a loss.

Having issues with my central locking. Posted previously that the key had stopped working, but having used a toothbrush charger to charge it independently of the car, I'm fairly sure it's not a key issue.

Key won't remote lock or unlock the car, and now, when using the key in the door instead, it's now stopped unlocking both doors (although it still locks/unlocks the petrol cap) and more worryingly isn't arming the alarm.

Before I fork out a fortune to take it to a mechanic to try and disagnose what's wrong, could it be any of the following?

Blown alarm fuse
Failed CL system
Something else wrong with the key I haven't though of

Thanks for any help/advice.

Could be you GM5 Module

Contact the guy below with your symptoms, he is very helpful. Mine played up a couple of years ago when it was snowing and very cold. Been fine since, but I know if it happens again I need to send my GM5 module off to have the relays changed. If your very handy with a soldering iron you can do it yourself, but it is a multi layered board so you really need to be careful.

Thanks srhutch - I've looked at this guy before as like you the CL has been playing up for a while with doors intermittently working, but the key always fired the CL and armed the alarm, even if the door lock doesn't work.

I'll drop him a note though as it may all be connected.
