also posted in general section but limited response, hoping here is better

only happened today but the open button on the key has no effect other than to disarm the alarm. Quick search suggests a possible problem with a control unit behind the glove box. Do others agree?

symptoms came on suddenly

remote will lock everything (middle button)
remote will remote open boot (bottom button)
remote will disarm the alarm (top button)
nothing opens from the remote (top button)
drivers door open with key in door - nothing else opens

door button in centre console does nothing.

found these folks, anyone any experience

Check this thread for another possible repairer for the module, you could pm the person from that post an see if the service was any good

hmmmmm

not much info/response so I thought I'd wade in a report what happens.

Took the glovebox and fuse panel off this afternoon, revealed the GM5 unit (nothing like the location shown in the US video though!). Bit of a bu99er but it came out OK after a bit of contorting. Took about half an hour to remove.

GM5 unit now on my bench waiting to be sent off for new relays

Yes, the culprit are the 2 Tyco relays in the GM5 module. I tried to replace them myself but had to send it off to a experienced PCB technician to finish the job in the end.
