Central locking on passenger side door

Guys, done a bit of searching but still not clear, so….

The central locking was working, but occasionally the passenger side seemed to stick, but pressing the key fob again would typically unlock the door ( and to be clear, drivers side works fine). So on occasions I would unlock the passenger side by pressing the button on the center console, but now even this isn’t opening the lock, so I have to pull the inside door handle to unlock it. I saw a thread about checking fuses for the door locks, with fuse 73 being mentioned, but looking at e85 fuse box diagram they don’t have fuses numbered that high (65 I think is the highest).

Is it the case that I need to pull the door card off, that the operating solenoid is either sticking or knackered. Any tips on removing the door card given the airbag in there ( safety like disconnect the battery, but obviously need it connected to operate the locking)

Haven’t checked for errors codes just yet, would a locking issue throw any codes

Thanks in advance
Al

Would it be a GM5 issue with just one door. Central locking from the key fob is working fine on the drivers side.

Would GM5 issue give me a fault code?

How easy to get to, or to test/check

Cheers

Yes had one recently where the passenger door played up but the rest was fine. Different relays inside the GM5 I believe?
It is mounted up behind the fusebox, accessible with the passenger footwell panel removed. A white box about 8" long and 3" wide with three large plugs in the underside of it. Simplest way to remove it is to undo the two black plastic 10mm nuts holing the bracket to the car, then lower it down. Biggest plug has a slider and cam slots. The other two have a locking lever which needs to be pushed over.
There are two types, 5RD or Star12 Low. You can plug in a matching one for quick diagnosis. If it cures it then you can send yours away to one of the eBay repair services and get it fixed for around 60 quid.

Ok thanks, does it need to be a like for like (5RD to 5 RD, star12low for star12low) or can they be mixed.

And is there anyone around the midlands with a spare that I could borrow to try to prove my fault

Thanks
Al

All sorted now, it was the GM5, used a guy off ebay call Merv at autoelectron (eBay name) in Harrogate cost £69 quid. That was post one day, fix and return same day, back with me the day after, so 3 days in total. A really nice guy as not only replaced the relays but updated the SW so that I now have one touch windows up ( as well as one touch windows down) and I now have roof up and down from the key fob (no extra cost). He even phoned me to give an update. First class bloke.

Hope this helps someone.

Very good service from Mervyn for GM5 repairs I always direct my Zedshed Cymru members to Mervyn if their GM5 modules start failing. Always nice to have the original module as that contains some of the coding options for your particular car, using a used replacement module may not have been coded with the same options as yours which would need coding using NCS Expert to restore desired options. Having the original repaired and its just plug and play when it comes back.
