central cubby hole light staying on!

Hello folks,

Am I correct in thinking that the central cubby hole light works off the handle? As mine has now started to stay on tonight so looks like need to fix it!

Is it easy enough to fix or what does one need?

Many thanks.

There is a little plastic clip on the base of the door that pushes a metal switch to put the light out in the same way a fridge door works! It's a new door job if you want it fixed (I did this the first time mine broke under warranty) but you can as I now have take the door off and screw a small self tapper screw in the bottom for exactly the same job as the original clip and as it's out if the way and no one can see it I'd suggest this is your best solution.

Thought it was at the top of the cubbyhole myself, engages with the door but has nothing to do with the door really. I have dismantled a couple of times in the coupe for other reasons.

Yep, as Paddy says, there is a small tab at the bottom of the door which hits a push switch to turn the light off.

Managed to break mine again the other week, might have to go the route of a self tapper as Paddy suggests, although it's not pretty!

Anyone know how much a new door is?

Mine does the same but it goes off a few mins after you've locked the car so never worried too much

Do all Zed's have a central cubby light? Pretty sure mine doesn't have a light, neither does the glovebox. Took a look inside and can't see anywhere to put a bulb either.
