Center consol covering

Has anyone out there covered their e89 Center console with nice soft leather instead of carbon fibre ? If so was it a nice look?.

I used to see listings on eBay by someone offering to cover the trims in leather or fake leather but can't find them anymore. Independently it looked ok but just as there can be too much carbon fibre there can be too much leather, especially if it does not match the rest of the leather in the car (colour texture etc).

That's very important. If it wasn't exactly the same leather as the rest of the interior, it would look DIY.

But you could use alcantara, maybe a contrasting colour, which would be easy to clean and would look good.

This Alcantara thing sounds good..Now to find someone to do it…how hard would it be to do it myself ?

I was thinking a charcoal grey on my black leather. but I am thinking just the center console and keeping the rest of the aluminium to maintain a bit of lightness inside..any thoughts??
