Celebrity rant...

Need to rant before I got to bed.

Having been up all night at work I had to walk past a crowd of trust executives, over excited public, security and various other entourage who were bustling around a 'celebrity' and his ego in the form of Peter Andre who was being filmed for some programme on This Morning.

I managed to look suitably unimpressed as walked past - I mean what has he actually ever done, as with many of this people who are placed on pedestals by society for no discernible reason.

Not only that but I had to be filmed by said ITV programme in theatre anaesthetising a patient who was having a c-section as seemingly even patients now want a piece of this fame. I hope I get cut out!!

Maybe I should embrace this fame what with a potential appearance on This Morning today and ITV's Trauma Level 1 this week or last by which I was also filmed in my previous hospital ago - so if anybody wants an autograph... :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Rant over

Woohoo! Nick can I be first in line for an autograph? :D

(Nice to hear doctors etc working over the weekend, not like the bloody hospital in Edinburgh this weekend :headbang: )

Not that i am a fan of Peter Andre.. but he went to school in my neck of the woods growing up, a friend of a friend basically.... and their are some far worse celebs!

I use to work oppose the magistrates court in London.. and whenever there was a big murder case i would end up on camera with my lunch in my hand :headbang:

Peter Andre is no celeb except to Chavs.

So Nick, did you use your normal mallet to put the patient out or something else as the cameras were on you?

Can understand your reason to rant, especially if you've had a busy night shift and not got enough Sudoku in ( :poke:  ) Well done on allowing them to film you, will keep my eye out for you on TV. Did they do an interview too? I've been asked twice in the past, once as a Med student then again as a house officer at a busy central London teaching hospital. Always said no for fear of putting my foot in it whilst being recorded. In hindsight it would have been good. I doubt anyone's ever going to ask when I'm tucked away in a GP surgery somewhere.

Did you have your green scrubs (is that right?) on Nick? I saw a miserable looking bloke behind the desk on the telly!

Personally, I wouldn't walk to the end of the street to see a "Celebrity" - I would walk some distance to avoid one tho! :D

Carol - apparently I was on there this morning!

They did a mini video (I believe its called 'vt', that stands for video tape  ) There was someone leaning over somebody else administering drugs. Bet that was you!

If it was a women with gestational diabetes having a caesarian section, then yes that would have been me!

I think i looked suitably pi$$ed off by the whole thing! lol
