CDV removed

as above really, had an early finish at work so thought I'd look into getting it done.
1st specialist I took the car to armed with the how-to print basically dismissed it as the work of in his words "Internet freaks".
Needless to say took the car to another place, up on the ramps, job done in no time. I'd have done in myself but have no access to jacks or axle stands.
The difference in changing 1st to 2nd is the most noticeable thing from my point of view. I'd definately recommend it. :thumbsup:
 
The first place must be mad to turn work away... I'd say they were freaks :rofl:

Good work on sorting it out so quickly... 1st to 2nd improvements sound good as they are often the hardest to get right if you just want to be slow and smooth!

I've got one waiting for my next oil service (I do one every 5,000 miles), but I've gotten used to the requirement to slip the clutch now and don't know if I'll put it on. That doesn't mean I'm going to sell it though, as I might change my mind.

Plus I've just priced up a 4-wheel set of EBC Yellow Stuff pads direct from EBC and they come in at about £90 delivered (special marshal rates) :thumbsup:
 
I had mine done sometime ago and it is a worthwhile modification. When I asked the shop foreman why BMW the CDV's on the car to begin with he told me with a wink"So your wife can drive the car." I didn't repeat the comment to mine when I got home.
 
Cool, so what is this supposed to protect??? the clutch??? because I ve noticed that kangarooing you talk about. Does it harm anything if its disconnected and are dealers prepared to do it
