Perhaps he knew you were such a bad driver that you would not notice it ... :poke:

It was the best cheap mod that i did on my car, Beedub i find it really strange that with your car you cannot feel the differance, It not only helps with the low speed driving and i dont just mean 1st to 2nd but general slow speed driving, But when driving hard you can feel the clutch slip slighly as it trys to help you change gear smoothly (which is wearing clutch) on every change and i would think with all your power you would really notice it, :|

Of similar opinion - after 4 years of driving the car (when I heard about this mod) I actually realised I'd become accustomed to driving with it so why bother... I think I need to look elsewhere to improve my driving :P

Must admit i did mine after about 3 weeks of driving so was still getting used to town driving, May be thats why i noticed the differance more then you guys, But the clutch slipping every time i changed gear when getting a move on is deffo a no no for me not only was it wearing the clutch that little bit more than it should but made me feel like i was a bad driver, Soon as i removed valve problem had gone. Any way round valve or no valve there still great :driving: cars

I noticed an improvement, but it doesn't totally eradicate the problem
tottally agree with the comment of my fellow friend here, i did mine almost 8 months ago, i would say that helped alot , i would recommend doing it... still some times y git the jerky sound but not really often as it was

Never bothered me in 45,000 miles of ownership... Either change smoothly at sub 2500rpm or change at redline. No kangarooing... Simple.

As an occasional visitor to this forum I missed this topic at the time, so bear with me for my sleepy repsonse! :?

I have a Z3 2.2i Sport - one of the last off the line before the model was withdrawn to make way for the Z4 - and it has, or rather had, a CDV plus fly-by-wire throttle. I found clutch and throttle control difficult until I, a: discovered how to reset the throttle map to default after the lady who owned the car before me taught it lazy ways by driving around like a funeral director, and b: had the CDV removed by Phil Crouch at CPC Engineering in Amersham. Now I can lift the clutch pedal rapidly confident that the revs won't go ape because the CDV has slowed the clutch engagement. The fly-by-wire is still a bit of an issue making the throttle response a bit vague, but at least the clutch does as it's told now. I would like a 'sport' button to sharpen the throttle response though... :driving:
