Hi
So I have just been under the car to have a look at removing the CDV.

I have looked in the "How To" section and I don't appear to have the same as pictured in that thread.

So my question is, has it been removed already or is it the thing the arrow is pointing to in my picture ?

If it is, will the flexi pipe still connect straight onto the pipe going to the slave cylinder?

Hope this makes sense, thanks in advance Stuart.

Thanks,

I was just looking through the how to's again and it seems my original search was in the e89 section :headbang:

What's the chances of getting away without bleeding the clutch after ?

Stuart

100% chance of that if you use mole pliers on the flexible part.

Is that 100% chance I WONT have to bleed it? I have a pipe clamp so was going to use that.

i bled mine..... but then again i changed the hole line while i was their for a braided unit.

Well that was easier than I thought it would be

Thanks for the quick responses guys

I am more than capable of doing these jobs but always seem to have that voice of doubt in the back of my head :headbang:

Just got to wait for the calipers to dry then fit the new disks and pads and I can try it out :driving:

did you bleed it mate?

Nope just clamped off the flexi pipe and undone it all. No fluid loss at all.

Dropped it back to the floor, pumped the pedal a couple of times, tried the clutch a few times with the engine running and first gear biting point all felt good. Back in the air to check for leaks, all good.

Can't drive at the moment as no brakes but it all seems ok

CDV, another one of those enigmatic mysteries of the Z4 along with the roof motor placement... :)
