binkin-ekkk..... after the clutch feels way different after the cdv delete. its pretty light!

the combo of this and the new flywheel & clutch feels much different to how it was. the bite point has definitely moved. :D

how much did you pay for the clutch and flywheel buddy?

£1200 by the time it was all fitted. but i got them to do the cdv valve and replace the droplinks/bushes on the front ARB too. i supplied the arb bits but they did the rest i think they also replaced the arm the release bearing is on as there was a chunk of metal with the bits that looked a bit like that. i guess there was a few little bits too like fluids that needed to be topped up.

i priced up the flywheel and clutch to see if i could get the price down and the cheapest i could do it was ~420 for the flywheel and 150ish for the clutch kit. ecp was in the >600 region. they took a day to do it all.

for me it was hassle free. dropped it off on tuesday they looked at it that day ordered bits did most of the work yesterday got it back this afternoon.

a 100% totally FUBAR'd flywheel. :D

i did a doozie on that. the two halves were completely free to move against eachother. you could rock one half on the other. they also think the clutch self adjusting part of the release plate was on its way out but couldnt say if it was due to me or just wear as just recently i thought that the clutch was very high and was slipping just a tiny bit especially if you didnt get the clutch right.

we recon that as the flywheel was spinning there was no damping so the slightest bite from anything would cause it to shift and hit eachother.

the friction part was not so bad.

car is silent now just the reassuring whoosh of no sound foam generated intake noise  (nice to finally do the drop links too)
ive only driven it from the garage so <2miles. i thought there was a bit of a judder but that could just be new clutch settling in. the clutch is really really different in feeling, its going to take a bit of getting used to

I much prefer the feel of the clutch without the CDV but, strangely enough, I too have felt a bit of judder on take up once or twice which I never felt before the CDV delete. No way it is going back on though!!!! :)

im glad you said that as i get that a little. i put it down to just the point where the release bearing is touching onto the release plate. im still a little bit unsure of this. the bite is much better and the clutch is a more precise. it just feels a bit less sophisticated that before if you see what i mean.

im glad i got them to do it, the guy at the place knew exactly what i wanted :D
