CD Stuck

It's not stuck. It committed suicide.
CD is dead.
Time to get into streaming/solid state...?

It doesnt want to come out of the cosy confines of the head unit then. It's clear.
Seriously tho sounds like ur eject switch is monged. Have u jammed anything into vents or surrounding plastics? Phoneholders, air fresheners etc? That can disrupt switch contacts.

Common BMW problem.
You say that it plays the disc but this may still work for you.
This normally happens when the drive can't read the CD. It continues to try and thats why you can't eject. This sometimes happens to burnt rather than commercial discs.
Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then get someone to press the eject button as you reconnect battery. CD should pop out.
Hope this works for you.

I had wacked a cup holder thingy in the top vent a few weeks back but not sure if that is in-sync with the problem!

It is the head unit (do not have cd changer)

Thanks mate - will try this on the weekend - it is a commercial cd - I can remember in the Mrs's Compact that we had a similar problem on the cd changer and 1 day after months of sticking it decided to eject - this is just the head unit though - arrrrghhhhhhh!

After sticking knives, rulers and other cd's to get the thing out, I retired.

Just got back from a pint in the other car and tried it 2 hours later,

Clicked the reject button and it pops out!

Mad!
