Morning all,
Do the G29’s have a CD player? I can’t quite tell from any pics I’ve seen.
What about the hard drive storage for music?
My E82 & F22 I’ve always saved CDs to the hard drive for listening.
Thanks

No. Upload CDs via USB to hard drive in car and access via music collection in media.

Thanks, what is the world coming to?!

Just use Spotify. I changed over when I got my first G29 and don't regret it. So much more music and I've found tracks and artists I never knew about including loads of current and older stuff.

Only downside is the streaming sometimes cuts out in poor signal areas. Minor issue as far as I'm concerned.

I copied my ITunes files to a USB stick and downloaded to the car’s hard drive.

Simple, everything there including artwork and track information.

The trouble with CD’s is that you have to store them somewhere in the car, you can only listen to one album at a time. With Spotify or iTunes or etcetera you can listen to anything and everything, discover new music, new artists or recapture your youth with some nostalgic tunes. I find the Wi-Fi connection pretty good, I do have dropouts occasionally when CarPlay seems to disconnect and as I subscribe to iTunes it’s always downloaded. For the past 35 years I’ve made playlists, from simple tape mixes to, mini-disc, then MP3 and CD’s (now shudder at the quality of MP3) then iTunes, then Spotify and now back to iTunes.

Embrace the future, CD’s are great, just not in a car

Yeah I do need to get with the program.
As I said I save the CDs to my hard drive on my 2017 M240i. Suits me perfectly then I play from there.
Great quality and no losses or drop outs.
I have a similar set up at home, just wondering if I could export that to a usb and then plug in.
I think it’s FLAC files. Hmm

Yes you can. I have about 3k tracks on a USB stick either ripped from my CDs or digitised from vinyl.
They are all in high bit rate MP3 format, not sure if FLAC format will work.
I’ve started using Spotify Premium now though which of course offers an almost unbelievable number of tracks, it does stop working though if you go through a mobile signal dead zone.

I might have to but a usb cd drive when I get one of these one day!😆
