Take it out of car and take the radio to a radio repair shop. My CD player wouldn’t play cds when I first got my car. Cost me £20 to get fixed total bargain. You are talking about head unit and not changer aren’t you?
Before you go to the trouble of removing the radio from the car why don't you just drive to a radio repair shop, they may be able to remove the CD in situ.
