CD player problem

Hi, first post for me.

I have an sdrive 23i, bought new by me in december 2009. Love it, no major problems, use it almost every day and just coming up to 20000 miles.

The only slight issue is the CD player, more times than not if when I start the car the player starts from a different track to the one when I originally locked the car. This sounds a bit trivial, I know! It happens with all CD's, ones I have burned and original ones. I mentioned it at the dealers recently when I took it in for the first service, surprisingly they took it very seriously and kept it for 3 days checking it out. They acknowledged that there is a fault but were not certain if it is the CD unit or a software fault in the engine management system. Anyhow, they stuck a new CD player in and all seemed OK for a few days but then the problem returned.

Anybody else experienced this problem? It may help when I take it back to the dealer. Thanks for listening!

I wouldn't consider it a problem really, but I've owned other cars that do this, presumably there's a valid reason, i.e. its near the end of the track therefore it starts from the next track at startup or some other guessable reason. I don't use the cd player much, I have my iPod and the iDrive to do that, but I'm not sure it would bother me that much if it started on a different track as my memory is rubbish and I'd not remember which track I was on anyhow...
