CD player problem

I wonder if anybody could help... I have been unable to play any CD's vie the slot player in the dash because it does not seem to pull the CD in when I try to insert it. If I press eject it makes a mechanical whirr as if trying to eject something so this makes me think there may already be a CD in there!? If I select the option on the stereo nothing plays however...

I bought the car a few weeks ago and I havent been able to use it so have been resigned to the CD changer! :x

Does anybody have a method for extracting a stuck CD? Or could it be something else?

Also, it's a '56 Z4M, is it also an MP3 player?

I've heard of people getting nav DVDs stuck in their players.

Someone described on here how you had to eject it before the player started reading the DVD otherwise it wouldn't eject, basically they had to disconnect the battery, then reconnect and quickly start pressing the eject button before the DVD player booted up.

can't hurt I don't suppose.
