CD player fault

Does anyone know why my CD player will not play. It just comes up with "ERROR " when I put in any CD. It has previously been working fine. This is on my 2010 e89 35iS M sport. Thanks

Have you tried using one of the blank cleaning cd,s there may be dirt ,dust on the laser thingy that reads the cd,just a thought
