CD Player fault; Ejecting CD noise

My 2004 BMW Z4 standard/factory cd player is making a constant clicking noise?!

I put a disc in (original as this model wont play copies) and it reads NO CD and just keeps clicking as if it was trying to eject or read the disc?

It also wont eject the disc straight away and just stops and ejects the disc when it wants??

Any help or advice is needed!

Er you do realise you've posted in the e89 section? Or 2009+ new shape Z4s?

In any event I'd say your looking at a new cd drive. Wreckers perhaps?

Hi 182 brooko, I part exchanged my 2.2 E85 for a new E89 a couple of months ago my old one did exactly the same thing, never got it sorted though, one of the reasons for changing, you haven't recently bought your car by any chance have you
