I've just removed the CD changer from my 06 coupe and the part no. is 6512 6983335-01.
It's a bit of a job you're taking on as the area for installing the changer isn't easily accessed. Having done it once I could do it quite quickly but first time round you will probably take a few hours.
If you don't have instructions then these may be of assistance.
Here are the installation instructions:

Not mentioned in there is that there are 2 small screws near to the hinges of the storage compartment lid which have to be removed prior to taking the lid off. Once these are removed you will find the lid very stubborn to pull off and it feels as if it is going to break. It does come off with a bit of effort. Also beware of the micro switch for the storage compartment light. Part of it is on the rear console assembly and is very easy to break when you remove the console as I found out.
You will probably have to remove the boot trim to access the CD changer connections and these are good instructions for doing so:
Thanks for that! To be honest Im prob going to get the dealer to the work (Im not a particularly good DIYer!), but they want £300 for the actual changer unit - was going to have a look on fleabay etc. to see if I could say a few quid!
Already purchased a replacement headunit and monitor from another member. The monitor is faulty but does work sometimes. only paid £15 for it so will do to test. costs work our roughly as follows
monitor £100 ebay germany
dvd unit mk4 only £300-350 ebay uk
head unit got mine for £75
wiring loom £60 main dealer
gps unit £20 ebay generic antenna
DVD maps a friend
so should be able to fit a £1500 option for between £500-£600
Don't you need to modifiy the dash to install though? I thought the screen came up out of the dash top?
Im thinking of having a bit of a play with some toys for mine, I've already decided on the CD Changer and probably cruise but nav seems a bit too tricky for my limited DIY abilities!
