CD changer

Head unit displays "No magazine" but there is one in the changer and it won't eject. Fuse is good and disconnecting battery for 20 seconds only made the clock to go dumb. Given what a royal pain it is to get the changer out of the car I'd love to hear of any experienced based tricks to remedy the problem.
 
Seems to be a common problem with the changer jamming, trying hitting it, thats th only option I would say before removing which as you say is a PITA.
 
Yep - they are fragile and it's the first sign it's going to fail for good. As sr says a light tap can jolt it into action. You may also try disconnecting the fuse or battery to cause it to reboot fully and also hold the eject button for several seconds and /or press repeatedly.

I'd start looking on ebay as you'll likley need one if not warrantied
 
I went for the 'light tap' approach when mine stuck (exactly the same error message). I pressed the eject button (it starts making the whirring noises) and strategically tapped at that point.

It's been working since (a month or so ago this was).
 
Mine did this a few times, now it says 'No Discs' so think its totally kaput.

I'm planning on installing the new parrott so not too bothered :P
 
I had this about a month ago, and it started working on its own, now its gone back to no magazine and i can see that a cd is half ejected but the eject button just makes whirring noises. Given it a propper clout but no joy :(

Going to have to manually try and push the cd tray back in the magazine with a sharp knife. I just want the CD's back so I can use the one in the head unit!!! :x
 
I did get mine working again by a deft application of force using the dumb end of a jewlers hammer. I'll just condsider it the eject button until it no longer works or I smash it with the business end.
