CD Changer stopped working since battery disconnect

Hi all, this is my first post. I recently purchased a 2007 Z4MC. Been pretty please with it so far. However, recently I disconnected the battery to give it a good charge (car had been parked up for a while). Since I reconnected it the CD Changer has stopped working. I have read other similar issues but no one seems to have an answer.

The head unit still sees the changer is there but says there are no disks. The cartridge will not eject - the eject button does not do anything. Occasionally I can here the CD Changer powerup, but it still does not make any difference.

Things I have tried which have made no difference:
- disconnect the battery again for 30 mins then reconnect
- Disconnect the battery, and remove fuse 48, connect battery, head unit now does not see the cd changer. Reconnect the fuse (hear CD changer power up) - but still same problem (head unit sees CD changer again)
- Holding down the eject button

I think the system just needs some kind of reset - Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

Leaving the car alone for about 20 mins will mean the iBus system goes to sleep. That might be enough to reset. (Similar thing happened when I installed my Intravee from the old car to the new)

Might be worth reseating the connectors in the back of the changer as well

A complete battery disconnect carried its own risks. Just leaving the car 15-20 mins will reset the iBus. If you disconnect the battery you only need to give it a few minutes to allow any circuits to discharge before plugging it in again.

OK, just reconnected the battery back, since you think there are further risks involved in having it disconnected.

It was disconnected for over an hour, but has not fixed the problem (hopefully nothing else has gone wrong)

Spoke to my local BMW specialist they want £40 + VAT to plug their diags into it and have a look!

So just ordered a cable and INPA VM from ebay - hope it works!

Now that you have an answer you can post some pics and an introduction in the newbies section 8)
Actually I don't have an answer yet - CD changer still not working. But I have now ordered a cable and INPA VM - wish me luck!
Will post up some pics as soon as this damn weather gets better and I can give the car a good wash.

Follow the installation instructions carefully, that diagnostic suite can be a PITA to install

If you're local to someone with INPA I'm sure they'd plug in for you.
