CD Changer replacement

Afternoon folks, as seems to be the norm on our lovely cars, my CD changer has packed its bags. I can't get the magazine out to get my CDs back and it won't do anything at all.

Couple of questions.

First, how the hell do I get my CDs out?

Second, how the hell do I get the whole CD changer out?

Finally, what the hell do I replace it with? BMW OEM replacement only.

Muchos!

You need to take the rear centre console out to remove. You can then remove the casing and worth the mechanism to get the caddy out.

There is instructions on my website on fitting an alpine cd changer, you can use these to find out how to remove the centre console.

its probably repairable by a specialist, don't buy a new one until you to check this avenue.

I've had this.

Whilst pushing the eject button tap it with a screwdriver handle increasingly harder until it pops out.

This has happened twice in 4 years and been Ok after percussion Maintenance carried out.

I've the same problem and I've tried your 'TLC method' :) but to no avail... :x

I might have to take to an expert, and no I don't mean a dealer.

Thanks for the responses guys, think I will go out and try the 'TLC' removal method now and then explore other avenues depending on results.

MP3 option the most likely. Is there a BMW MP3 option that can be fitted?

some head units support mp3 and thats the stock depends on age of car. you also can get a iphone/ipod cable fitted.
