CD Changer part number

We recently purchased our Z4 and found the CD changer is not pulling the disks from the cassette.

My other half is insisting that I get it working rather than changing for an AUX input.

The part number on our changer is 65-12-6913389-03

He a search on eBay and there are numerous changers for sale.

Can anyone give me a list of the cd changer part numbers that will work in my Z4.

Thanks

Daniel

I believe its a fairly standard unit on a number of BM's
Is it the CD or the magazine?
Replacing the CD changer is reported as a 'bit of a pig'. Having had some recent issues with position 6 on my CD changer magazine see if it can be removed from the boot area behind the carpet. You can certainly access cable connections from there. Some one else might have details.
There are some threads on fitting and making aux connections for the standard business head unit if you check them out. I made one and fitted from this link.

Its fairly straight forward and not expensive
Good luck

No you will have no luck trying to do it from behind. (ooh missus)

You need to remove the entire car from around the changer then rebuild it around the new one. Then repeat the exercise after a few months when that changer also packs up.

It's time to bite the bullet and go mp3. Not as expensive as you think and easier than a CD changer swap.

I don't have the part numbers, but be aware that there are 2 generations of these CD changers, which look identical. The older ones cannot play MP3 CDs, whereas the newer ones can.

Does the ability to play burnt mp3 discs not depend on the head unit rather than the multichanger?

My understanding is that it's down to the laser, so the ability for the multichanger to play MP3 CDs is down to the particular version of the multichanger, and the ability to play MP3 CDs in the single slot in the head unit is down to the version of the head unit.
