CD Changer packed up

Hi all,

I have a CD changer problem and thought i'd post me question here for the wealth of knowledge to help me!

Basically on of the trays got stuck in the changer when trying to retract and I managed to get that back using a bread knfe! The 6 cd disc changer doesn't eject once the button is pressed and just makes a noise and I have to use a knife/credit card to get to the emergency eject......(The catch which flings the changer out once you press eject isn't working).

The CD changer is not working at all once in, the cd changer just reads, 'no magazine' then 'no disc'.......

............I have checked all CDs are in properly and the right way up, the fuse is fine also.

Any ideas?? I could check its power but how do I get to the disc changer without spending three weeks taking apart the centre of the interior?..........or am I looking at buying another CD changer three ruddy months before selling the car!

Thanks

theres alot of people that have had problems with the cd changer, me included, i think the general consensus is that when it starts playing up its not gonna get any better. Iv just given up on the idea of it ever working again and im not gonna even contemplate taking half the interior apart just to take it out, i guess it depends how right you want it to be before you sell it though. if it was me id save your money and tell prospective buyers that it doesnt work, theres still the cd player in the headunit so its not the end of the world

my cd changer worked perfectly since i got the car about 9 months ago, but the otherday i decided to burn some mp3 cd's as i was getting annoyed with the 6 albums and the fm transmitter. now its fecked up! didnt recognise the mp3 cd's then after taking its sweet time decided it did like them but then she (has to be a woman) decided she didnt like them after all and jammed the cd cartridge eventually got the cart out and now no matter what i put in it says cd check!

any ideas?
