Hi all, after a quick search I can see there's a few diff faults on the changer.

Ivetried the cd lens cleaner and still nothing?

I doesn't recognise a cd in the first tray and it recognises cd in tray 2 but no sound and you can change tracks too???

The cd in te head unit works fine but u also notice it makes a loud ticking scratchy notice when I get in the car ( even before ignition is on?

The car is 2003 3.0i with business stereo and has and the amp in boot (I think its an amp - under carpet behing reg plate area?)

Any ideas, does the changer connect to head unit or does it have a separate lead to amp? Also what's this no lounge digital all about ??

Thanks for a y help guys :D

"Lounge" digital? Must be a reference to the audio presets which indicate that the amp interface is digital. None of the presets are called lounge though. Church jazz and concert are the settings. Digital systems have the CD changer interface going to the amp via a coax cable. Other systems, the CD changer interface goes to the head unit via copper wires.

Definitely worth checking any connections that aren't horribly difficult to access.

Typical CD lens cleaning discs don't always do the job. In general, I've had better luck directly manually cleaning the lens, but obviously that can be very difficult in some situations.

I don't know enough of the internals to suggest any possible course of action, unfortunately. It may be time to abandon the changer and install an iPod interface or something.

These CD changers get very temperamental, probably time to ditch it and convert to some form of MP3 such as Intravee (if you have nav) or dension.

Denison gateway is a unit that connects to your head unit allowing connection of USB, iPod or aux connection.

No worries. Some how I managed to correctly answer your question despite my confusion. Should have bought a lottery ticket that day.

There's a number of interfaces available, shop around. You will need to determine for sure whether you have digital (DSP) or analogue. For reasons that should become obvious, I think this post describes the best way:
