Cd changer fixed

Hi just fixed my cd changer that hasn't worked since I had the car. The fault was a stuck cd in the cassette which must have made the fuse blow at the rear of the unit. An absolute pig of a job which included taking out the centre console to get access to it then taking the changer to bits to get the offending cd back into the cassette then powering back up and ejecting it. All is working perfect now. I know I should have taken some pics but didn't think about it until it was all back together. There is a you tube video that was very helpful where they are showing you how to change the sat Nav drive and how to take the centre console out, although they did miss quite a few screws out on the video. A very bad design idea from BMW making it so hard to access because I imagine it will be only a matter of time before a CD gets jammed again.
 
If everything was easy to get to how would they ever make money an labour charges, am sure on e46 changer was in corner of boot just hidden by carpet
 
That's the reason why I am tempted to bypass the CD changer completely with a unit that can read USB/SD cards and accept an AUX in as well so I can have a wider range of music.

I have seen how difficult it is to remove the CD changer...it's crazy how much trim has to be removed to take that small little unit that should just slide right out of the rear console!
 
When I did the bt / aux on mine in place of cd changer it was at the Head unit end, although also unplugged the 2 plugs us at the cd changer end but managed that going through the boot
