CD Changer doesn’t see discs

My new Z came with an old Parrot system, which I have successfully connected to both my iPod and phone.
This is a good thing as I unable to get the Business Unit CD Changer (which is located in the panel between the seats) to recognise when discs are placed in the holder.
Can anyone please advise of the potential cause and fix to this issue?
 
Tbh, the cd changers are useless. Due to the relatively hard suspension on the zed especially if you have runflats, they will skip and stop like a biatch on anything but flat roads.

I never use mine for that reason. Use the parrot kit and stream music via Bluetooth from your phone.

The CD changers can be temperamental and are prone to fail.

TBH I would look for an mp3 solution which would replace the changer.

You could also try giving it a whack as this does sometimes help.
 
Are they genuine cds or burned ones? Not sure on this but there was something going around that it doesn't read some files on burned cds like wma etc. Has to be mp3 only.

I suspected I may have got this wrong and so have tried both ways. If the discs are inserted the wrong way, the system actually identified this, but if they are the correct way, it just says “no disc”. :headbang:

I’ve tried a mixture, and it seems to be consistent. Neither are recognised. I’ll revert to the parrot system...
 
Worth trying a cd lens cleaner disc on the off chance you have dust on the laser. Cheap as chips on Ebay. Actually a bag of chips is nearly two quid nowadays, so I would say cheaper than chips.

Good idea, thanks. I actually have one knocking about somewhere, so it’s even better.. Free. Update to follow.
