CC retrofit

Chaps,

A bit of a long shot I know..

I've got the parts for CC to be retrofitted to my 07 roadster. I'm going on a 3 day trip around Wales on Monday and am having a hard time getting someone to squeeze me in to their schedule, understandably as I've left it so late.

Is there anyone here that would fancy doing it for me? Cash your way ofcourse. I'm in Surrey so if you're within a reasonable distance and fancy doing it, please let me know.

Thanks!

If you're able to get to Aylesbury this coming Sunday I'd be happy to install for you. Pretty quick job once all the panels are off. What size engine do you have?

A timely reminder for me. I've had the kit now for about a month and done nothing with it. Dick Lovett Swindon wanted £ 328 to do it  "A two hour job sir ... One for fitting and one for coding" . Bollox I'll do it myself !

It's an 08 e86 and should therefore not have to go anywhere near diagnostics/coding.

i have a 2008 roadster and will be looking into doing this fairly soonish.... is it just plug and play for a 2008 model as i read somewhere some older/newer(cant remember which way round) needed a loom adapter or something?

Unfortunately you need a loom. I did it in March. It involves cutting some wires and joining them to the loom and then running the wire to the ECU in the engine bay. That , for me, was the hard bit.

There is a good guide on it.

£328 for a stealer to retro fit CC sounds a bargain :fuelfire: my local wanted £545 and "It may be £645 sir if we need to reprogram."

Depends what parts they plan on using. New lower steering cowl comes in around the £200 mark... or you can cut the existing for free! Coding definitely not needed. The retrofit instructions are all fine except the pin connections to the ECU... that is indeed the hard bit.

£100 for the bits and a day of your time is all it will take. Taking all the trim off is the most time consuming part!

didn't realize it was that big of a job

thought it was just a case of buying the stalk, cutting the plastic so it fits... plug and play and away u go......

not really sure if all the rewiring and running cables throught my car is something i can do :headbang:

That was with me supplying the parts :o

I paid € 180 from a dealer in Germany including shipping. This is the whole kit including the stalk, loom and replacement lower cowling

It's fiddly but not impossible. The only real issue is where to connect the wire from the kit to the DME. Might be a bit clearer for your engine than the N52 instructions. If you're over London way then we could certainly meet and give it a go.

£328 for two hours work?! They really are having a laugh. Think you got a fair deal on the lower cowl, that's usually the most expensive bit!
