Cayman (older one)

Very good friend has an S - to be honest I'd certainly take one out for a drive as I'm not sure it's a step up from the M - the ZM always seems stronger when pulling away down a B road - the caymans ride looks more resolved and it seems to hold the road better - its probably a better engineered car but I'm not sure it's any more fun - some side by side photos.

I also think the Mk1 was bit awkward in the looks department. It's very sensitive to wheels and colour choice. The Mk2 looks much better in that respect.

Agreed - don't tell my mate this but I think Guiseleys looks much more special in the metallic blue - and I think different wheels .

I looked at Caymans when I was changing my car. The IMS(?) issue was a concern.

In the end, the brute power of the S54 engine was the deciding factor. That and my life would have become difficult with a Porsche.

They are great cars though

The Cayman has been on my radar for some years but right now cannot commit the funds
Nice choice,s above Woots / the silver one would be my target of the 3 but i can appreciate the more bold colours of the other 2

In all honesty the silver is the real R the others are fancy S models but yeah I'm wanting a more wild colour similar to the green or a stunning colour like the blue one...serious want right now!

Acqa Blue is rather unusual, but I prefer it to the normal black silver grey white (sorry Lucy).
Go for an S if you want an upgrade from the M, the 2.7 might feel a bit flat.
Go for PDK as it shifts quicker than we could, and it gives it the legs over the M.
PASM is useful as that helps hunker it down whilst hooning, but allows it to be softer than any Z4 whilst pootling (more ground clearance than a 3.0si se too which is handy) - and very useful if you go for 19's.
Get an exhaust upgrade from Carnwall to avoid it sounding like a rep mobile.
That was my thought process before I bought mine!

It's not even close IMO - the Porsche is a serious upgrade handling wise and makes swift progress very easy.

I do wonder if it's necessary to be this fast, this easy - and wonder if driving the M is ultimately more satisfying because you have to work at it more.

Off topic slightly....but I need to stop looking At different cars

Guiseley, I agree it is an upgrade from your old Z, but it sure is not an upgrade from an M ...

The S is very loud and drinks oil apparently. Probably the only modern Porsche I'd buy, still I'd have a 968 coupe anyday!

That's gorgeous mate!!

But I def think I need a properly garish colour :|

Depends on the light.. p.s. Don't go for Speed Yellow whatever you do!

Why not?

Cause it,s a girlie colour ? :P

Your car look,s swell C , wasn,t a fan of the yellow Z shade but the Stuttgart yellow is right on the mark

Don't go on the a Boxster forum and say its a girlie colour!

do men own boxsters?

The Cayman S was on my shortlist last year also. I agree with most, it's not a step up, but is a decent sideways step imo. Less power but more finesse. I'd definitely like to own one at some stage. That said the Boxster Spyder is a seriously good looking car.
