In bloody Sussex  81 in a 70 on a downhill stretch of dual carriageway, picture taken from bridge where they zapped me, A23 Broxmead Lane overbridge. 9.38 in the morning, not a car on the road, makes my piss boil

Looks like I'm in good company though

I guess you can hope for the course. Bare in mind Admiral group DOES ask if you've ever done a SAC. Even though there is no record of attendees that they have access to.

The result of saying yes is the same as the points in premium terms. Sadly for Londoners, Admiral group is often the cheapest provider in these postcodes due to the area rating being so bad for any central london postcode.

Sucks to be caught though, another example of a road tax really.

EDIT: FWIW - i have done the course, and its not as bad as you expect - you'll walk out of it laughing at how bad the road knowledge of most motorists is.

I been done once after 25 years of driving doing 60 in a 50 on a dual carriageway
same as you no cars about
got 6 points
£90 fine
£20 court cost
go figure
they had got roadwork signs up tho saying 30
nobody about tho
:driving: :D

I'm sure you feel badly done by - when the road conditions don't merit the fine it's guaranteed to annoy road users. Prefer it when the context makes sense - past schools, built up areas, dangerous junctions, excessive speed etc but on such a dual carriageway with little traffic . . . and after 20 years points free.

First time in 20 years. Then think about all the times over that period that you exceeded it and got away with it and on average it's pretty low catch rate :)

Absolutely shocking, why were you not at work at that time

Lost probably

One of their favourite haunts though. We've had a few at work get caught there.

Started at 10 that day. Someone in my office got done in same place a few weeks before.

And you did not learn from that one :P

Don't send Bing down that road - if France was anything to go by he does not know what to do

I never exceed the speed limit anywhere, I have no idea what you're talking about...

You should hopefully get offered a course for that. Apparently they do take into account road conditions, weather etc. when deciding. Not that I've bee on one of course...

Didn't know about it until after I'd been done

Got my summons yesterday for doing 47 in a 30, 05:49am what a mug :( did a search on the insurance sites, 3 points and a £100 fine didn't make much of a difference on my quote, but only had the notice of intention to prosecute, hoping it's only 3 points. i am lead to believe if you're doing upto 9mph over the limit you will be offered a course, over that you won't.
EDIT
just been filling the paperwork in and a list of eligible speeds are included,
you are eligible if caught doing;

31 in a 20
42 in a 30
53 in a 40
64 in a 50
75 in a 60
86 in a 70
red light offence
2.9 seconds

Bad luck but in 20 years, not bad!

I'm waiting for one to come through. I think I got zapped the other day. I was only about 5mph over but it's enough for a letter.

What boils my piss is the absolute stupidity I see at the Seven Bridge Tolls.
People reversing up the carriageway, driving sideways from lane 1 to lane 8 and even U turns to go back to down the 'on' slip road, ue the Police wont make occupay a presence there.
They'd rather get you for doing 34 in a 30 :headbang:

It is an epidemic :o

It really, really annoys me that resources can be allocated to this.

I had been invited once as a local business owner in my area to comment on local policing requirements. My frank comments regarding not to waste time and money on speed traps, community speed watch and anything to do with that rather than burglary prevention and gypsy control was probably not well received. Have never been invited again
