Cat's sleeping on soft tops?

We had one like Harry, called Merlin. He was a Burmese cross and the biggest cat I've seen shy of a Maine Coon cat. He scared the neighbours German Shephard Dogs and would catch birds by spooking them and jumping vertically to catch them. He could jump about my height (6ft+)
His biggest catch was bringing a live herring gull in through the cat flap, the mess was incredible.

Don't agree with all the cat killing comments on here, it's the usual stuff people come out with who don't appreciate the strength of feeling people have for their pets, my mate is a bit like it but it just shows something missing in their make up. However Im sure the lads were just in their own way being humorous and offence wasn't intended, in my short time on the forum most of the posts they put on have been amusing or helpful so let's give them the benefit of the doubt on this one people. Oh and for the record I love pussy

Had a similar experience with cats sleeping on the roof of my previous Z3. Unfortunately the cat(s) did not only sleep on the roof. They discovered that the roofs fabric was very nice for sharpening claws. It became of course holes and I had to replace the complete roof at the stealer. Not a cheap experience.....
But afterwards I bought an alarm which was triggered by a movement sensor (example; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-Sensor-Detector-Security-Burglar-Alarm-Motion-/271306824658). Installed this over the cars roof, and activiated it each night with the remote control. Heard the alarm at some occations the first nights after installing it (sound louder than 105 dB). The cat(s) learned quickly that the roof was a noisy place, and I got rid of the problem
