Catalytic converter

Hi all, I was looking to change my cat and the prices are mad. Just wondering if these are any good to get me through the NCT emissions test?

They are expensive as it's essentially a new exhaust manifold. Is it a cracking issue you are having? A few people have had them welded up successfully.

I did, I did an emissions test and it passed perfect so no need to change the cat but, I do have the p0420 code error manifold threshold bank 1 below standard every now and again. I think it might be a leak in the manifold or manifold gasket. Partly at least due to the fact I commute through the city to work and I'm stopping every 2mins for a traffic light.
