CAT Driver Training

Not sure if this is right section for this but anyway, these guys definitely deserve a shout.

Did the performance driver course the other day at Millbrook (amazing place!). Having recently upgraded the suspension I wanted an instructed day on mostly track orientated driving. Holy crap when setup properly these things have some insane grip, Millbrook gives you a great opportunity to see how the car works under different conditions and I couldn't have been happier with how the car felt on the limit and how to actually drive these things properly. My instructor Paul was suitably impressed as well, commenting on how good it felt and the setup (using the string method, Hunter isn't necessarily the best!).

It's not a cheap day, but the amount of confidence I have in the car now was worth every penny, and that's before you take into account all the theory explanations. If you want to learn about driving quickly and what the car is actually doing and why, then these guys are up there. I did 3 laps on the handling course at the end of the day all within .9 of a second of each other (approx 1 min lap.). The focus is really on consistency and safety, not necessarily the fastest way around a track (they do other courses for that!) but definitely the safest which for me is the most important thing at the moment.

Can't wait for the next track day now :D

Can't beat a plum bob and vernier scratched on a piece of wood for setting up a car.

Every one should do a few performance driving courses. The roads would be safer.
