Weather permitting gonna take a trip out over the cat and fiddle on Sunday. Barring the obvious Cat and Fiddle pub, anyone know a decent place to have something to eat out that way.

Hopefully it wont rain and we can get the top down. Only two weeks into ownership and loving every minute.

Which way are you coming from and do you want to eat at Buxton or Macclesfield end ?

Pub or restaurant ?

Going to travel from Macclesfield over into buxton, then back on the Macclesfield Road towards Pott Shrigley. Not bothered pub or restaurant, I just prefer to go with reccomendations rather than pot luck

Cheers

Oohh... Well you got some great places to choose from..

My personal faves are....

Royal Oak just 2 mins out of Buxton...http://www.peakpub.co.uk/

Columbine in Buxton.... Bit pricey but lovely food..http://www.columbinerestaurant.co.uk/

Lord Clyde at the Macc end.... Its in Bollington, about 5 mins away...http://www.thelordclyde.co.uk/

And the Swan Inn in Kettleshulme...10 mins from Macc end....Great food, and a good pint of Marstons!..http://www.verynicepubs.co.uk/swankettleshulme/photoAlbum.aspx?albumUid=88d79069-9af2-42fc-b42b-19e37c8f725a

Thanks for your suggestions, I think I will go with the royal oak, anything before the cat and fiddle pass and I may see the food again sooner that I would want to haha. They all look good though cheers.

Isn't the cat and fiddle 50mph average speed cameras now or have I got my knickers in a twist thinking of Snake Pass :?

Iirc they're all the way along :( :(

Setup to obtain the greatest distance possible no doubt.

I can recommend the Ship Inn at Wincle near Bosley, slightly off route, but a characterful pub serving good food, somewhat gentrified since a makeover a few years ago, but retaining the flagged floors.
