I'd just lose or damage a Rolex or Breitling so I'm happy with my Citizen Skyhawk. Self adjusting, never needs a battery, titanium so light and looks nice IMO
If I was going to spend that sort of money on something flash, it won't be a watch

I have a TAG but it certainly doesn't look any better than yours
Nice watch. I have a g-shock for work and it has stood up to some pretty hot and cold places .
I also have an Omega Seamaster which I love . So thumbs up for Casio and Swiss watches from me. I love the Seamaster for the same reason I like the Casio you can wear it anywhere nice clear faces on both.

I'm one of those that has had a bad experience with a Quartz Tag 6000 chronograph. It is a lovely thing to look at. And as it's quartz It kept brilliant time. As it turns out though. It ended up having the build quality/reliability of a Yugo with the price of a Porsche. Fortunately I only paid quartz money for it. ($400 USD) Had I paid full cost. I'd be in jail right now for having committed arson at the Tag factory. First time it got wet, It leaked. $200 USD for a drying out (just a mist on the crystal) and rebuild. Only two years later. One of the chronograph buttons just fell out. $300 USD for a new button and another rebuild. Another two years. And now the chronograph has stopped working. Tag wants $395 USD for yet another rebuild and they wouldn't tell me how much for the new movement it will need until I send it to Tag. So far my $400 watch has cost $900. With at least another $395 rebuild needed. Plus the cost of the new movement to get the chronograph working. The main time function still works.
I have zero issues with a quartz watch. But I look at it this way in regards to the Tag and other up market Swiss quartz watches. If Porsche took a GT3 and put a Prius engine or a Shimano crankset in it. Should it still be worth almost 80% of the value of the real Porsche GT3. No! Your just paying for the name on the bonnet.

Cheers! It's relatively cheap compared to exotics (got mine for £295 in the sales a couple of years ago) light, and no batteries ever plus auto adjusts to the ww atomic clock signals. Not sure if its still available, although they've bought out a "red arrows" commemorative version

I had one of those first time around as well. I might even still have it at the bottom of a drawer somewhere!
This thread has piqued my interest!
Here's my old Casio, purchased circa 1982 as a sailing chronograph It's a bit battered and scratched but is still going strong although these days it only gets used ocassionaly as a back up. I have a Tissot for best and an Optimum Chronograph for sailing which TBH is no better than the Casio.
From memory it cost about a third of what the Seiko cost that it replaced and the Seiko had about a third of the functionality of the Casio.
I struggle to get batteries for it from mainstream jewellers. The last replacement came from an independant camera shop in town.. Apparently it is in fine fettle although the rubber seal is a little hard and I am advised not to immerse it in deep water!
My Father also has one purchased at the same time as mine and his is going strong too. He got a bit confused recently and thought it was running backwards! He took it to a mainstream jeweller and they hadn't got a clue how to reset it.. Father was delighted when I pointed out that the countdown timer had been set to 10 hours and it was just doing what it was meant to. He was even more delighted that I was able reset it for him.
